Icelandic Sheep in Wild Winds with Stormy Skies
I have an affinity for Icelandic sheep. Never having seen one in real life, I am always looking at photos of them, and find them to be utterly beautiful especially in the wild, with a full coat. While it's unlikely that I'll ever travel to Iceland, or Greenland I fantasize about doing so and seeing these maginificent beasts in person. In the meantime, in this lifetime anyway, I will keep drawing and painting them and looking into those amazing eyes, eyes that have seen and endured wild winds that blow in off the sea on cold tundras that I never will experience. There is a quiet beauty in the enduring presence of creatures waiting for the brief period of summer when the grass turns green. It is my passion as an artist to bring joy and wonder into peoples lives, and I hope my animal surrealism paintings achieve that goal.
